BOY OR GIRL?

I mentioned in my last post that I had done a few 'Old Wives Tale' Gender Predictions. Here are some of the results I thought I would share for fun....

Urine test: By observing the color of your urine- if it is neon yellow or a dull yellow. Mine was neon in color which indicates BOY!

Morning sickness: They say that little girls make their mama's sick and I had NO morning sickness which indicates BOY!

Soft or dry skin? Mine has been extremely dry which indicates BOY!

Are you craving citrus? YES! I have been buying orange juice like CRAZY which indicates GIRL!

Have you felt glowing or less than beautiful and had lots of breakouts? I have been breaking out like a teenager and feeling less than my best. They say the baby is 'stealing your beauty' which indicates GIRL!

Heartbeat indicator: Both our heartbeats were pretty fast which is said to be an indicator of a GIRL!

Craving fruit or meat? I would have to go with fruit which is an indicator of GIRL!

Pendullum test (which my boss swares by): Indicated a GIRL and for my next child a BOY!

Dreams- I've heard opposite things on this. Some have said that whatever a mother thinks, it is because mother always knows. Others have said that you have opposite of what you have been dreaming about. I'm not sure but I have felt and dreamed nothing but BOY!

I just thought I would share some of these silly tests. Do any of you have tests you've heard of? What do you think it is going to be? 23 days until we find out!!

13 Weeks! (sorry I missed 12...)

Okay...so my life has been CRAZY and I am not as great as this blogging thing as I thought I would be. Once I survive April, things will be SO much less hectic. April is full of birthdays, meetings, showers, and...I am co-chairing a HUGE fundraiser on April 30th (more to come soon) which is consuming much to all of my free time.

The above picture is not the greatest as it is taken from the Iphone but I do have a new camera at the top of my birthday wish list for when Baby Hayes gets here! I also feel like it is misleading- the flowy top makes me look like I have WAY more of a bump than I do!

Pregnancy Highlights-

How far along: About 13.5 weeks now! (Baby is the size of a lemon now)

Weight Gain: 1.5 pounds! I thought I was doing bad but that reassured me this week!

Gender: Come on May 13th! I'm still feeling boy but Jonathan swears it's a girl. I did some fun Old Wives Tales Predictions this week that I will share soon! Don't forget to vote on the poll on the right...looks like more people are agreeing with Jonathan!

Movement: I was laying in bed one night and I think I felt my first 'flutter'! It was SO amazing!

Sleep: I am trying to train myself to sleep on my side because I am a stomach sleeper and it has really kept me tossing and turning lately! I don't know what I am going to do!!

What I miss: My work pants fitting comfortably :)

Cravings: This week it has been eggs and orange juice...and still jelly beans!

Symptoms: This week it has been the random food cravings, back pain, and back to going to the bathroom constantly!

Worst Moment of the Week: I got sick with Strep Throat which landed me on antibiotics and a day and a half off work spent in bed. I just get so nervous taking medications and running a fever while pregnant.

Best Moment of the Week: Feeling my first flutter...pretty cool!

11 Weeks!

I'm 11 weeks! (Okay, I'm actually almost 11 1/2 but I was a little late this week) Pregnancy Highlights: How Far Along: 11 Weeks Size of baby: Baby is the size of a lime this week

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 3 lbs. Maternity Clothes: None yet but I'm thinking it won't be too long- pants are getting a little snug!

Gender: We will know May 13th! I'm still feeling boy! Take the poll and make your guess on the right side of the screen.

Movement: Can't feel any yet but baby was VERY active on the ultrasound today.

Sleep: The getting up to pee constantly is easing up but I still toss and turn a lot which is very unusual for me.

What I miss: Can't say anything yet.

Cravings: Mexican food, cheese dip and jelly beans (especially the Sour Patch Easter ones...YUM!)

Symptoms: Bloating, indigestion and some other things you don't want me to mention...

Best Moment this week: Seeing a perfect healthy little baby moving around at our doctors appointment today!

I absolutely hate this picture but it's me at 11 Weeks. I wore a rather form fitting dress to work and this was the result- I look more like I ate too many cheeseburgers than pregnant.

And this is the best picture ever! (Sorry it's hard to see but it's a picture of a picture). We got to see our precious little sweet pea at our appointment today. The doctor couldn't even get a good picture because baby was moving around so much! And baby had a great, strong heartbeat- Praise the Lord! I'm in love already!

Baby Hayes- Coming in October

In case you didn't already know... Yes, we're pregnant! I know I have been a terrible blogger but I promised several faraway friends and family (cough....Jennifer!) that I would do a better job during pregnancy and keep them updated.
I got a positive home pregnancy test on February 5...I was barely 4 weeks! My doctor still can't believe I got one so fast but I did. We had a little scare in the beginning with some spotting and what not but on February 24th we got to see a precious, strong heartbeat and a wiggly little baby! I was so relieved! Before going in for that ultrasound, I really hung on to these two verses...
"Be still and know that I am God!" Psalm 46:10
"So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Mark 11:24
For those of you who know me well, you may recall I had a miscarriage last May. It was a rough time for me but God used it to teach me so much and reminded me that His plans are perfect. Yes, it made this pregnancy a little scary but God has been working on my heart and teaching me to completely trust Him. I went in to the ultrasound that day knowing that whatever we saw- heartbeat or none- that I had to trust in Him.
We truly are praising the Lord for this baby and I completely give the praise and glory to Him!
Now for all the other details that people want to know...
When are we do? October 18th, 2011!!
How have I been feeling? I must say I feel blessed. Other than being extremely tired for the past 5 weeks, I have felt great! I have had no morning sickness and as long as I eat a little snack mid-morning and mid-afternoon to keep my blood sugar up, I haven't even been that nauseous.
What do we think we're having? I have no idea but I cannot wait to find out! We'll find out mid-May but it seems most friends and family are team boy :)
Thanks for sharing in our excitement and we ask for your prayers for a continued healthy, normal pregnancy. We are so excited!

Abby's Fancy Nancy Soiree

Today I'm linking up again with Kelly's Korner: Show Us Your Life- Kid's Birthday Parties. Although we don't have kids yet...(more to come on that soon...)...I do have a little sister who I am second Mom to. This past year I helped plan her a REALLY cute 'FANCY Nancy Pinkalicious 4th Birthday Party.
One of my best friends, Leslie, did the invitations and did such an AMAZING job! If you want a custom designed invitations for your event, Giraffic Arts is the place for you.
Part of her present from me was going to get her hair done before the party so she could look extra 'fancy'. I made these clips out of butterflies from Hobby Lobby and hair clips. The rest of the magic was done by the oh-so-talented Katherine at Katherine Grant Salon and Spa. Abby felt so grown up getting this up-do!
When the girls first arrived we had a read aloud of Abby's favorite book (and the inspiration for the party), Fancy Nancy.Next the guest moved on to a Royal Tea Party. This was the place settings. We glued jewels on the forks and spoons and the guests were served pink lemonade or strawberry milk out of goblets we decorated with jewels and personalized with their name. We served cupcakes, heart shaped sandwiches, pink candy, fruit kabobs, and mini sundaes. The girls loved it! We even borrowed a small table and chairs from our church.
Here is a closer picture of her cake. A family friend did it for us. We bough the feathers and butterflies from Hobby Lobby to 'fancify'. Boys weren't allowed to the party but she made an exception for her favorite cousin, Kaden!

The last part of the party was the best. We turned the garage into a New York runway. We had a table set up with makeup, boas, mirrors, and glitter hairspray and helped the girls get all dolled up. Then we played music from Kids Bop and let them strut the cat walk! It was such a fun party!
I just started planning this year's Cowgirl party which is looking promising too...can't wait to share!

Oscar, anyone?

I know, I'm a terrible blogger! I promise I am going to be a much better blogger soon! But enough for excuses....Does everyone else watch the Oscars? I'll admit that as much as a movie freak as I am, I only watch for the fashion! I love seeing who is wearing what and perhaps I daydream a bit about what it would be like to be a Hollywood starlet.

It seems this year was all about bright dresses which I loved! Ruby, tangerine, plums, and Coca Cola Red....

I LOVED all 5 of these ladies dresses. Penelope= Hottness!

Some may disagree with me on this next one but my favorite dress of the night was this...

Mila Kunis looked amazing! I loved the lavender. Sure, it was a bit 'revealing' but she just looked stunning to me.

And I can't go without mentioning my favorite leading lady...

Best hair of the night! I thought Reese looked classy and fabulous!

And for my least favorite of the night...

Sorry if you are a Nicole fan but this Dior gown was just all wrong in my opinion.

Who was your favorite of the night? Who was your least? I know for sure that next year I need to be around girlfriends while watching. Jonathan just wasn't in to it!

House for Sale

As you may (or may not) know, we bought a new house back in September and moved back to North Little Rock. We wanted to move to North Little Rock for numerous reasons and when the perfect foreclosure fell into our lives, we knew we had to scoop it up! We LOVE our new (old) house BUT we still have not sold our old house. It is a great, adorable house in Little Rock in a good neighborhood but the housing market is just slow right now. Do you know someone, anyone in Little Rock looking for a house? We currently have it with an agent but our listing is up so we have to decide if we want to rent, put it for sale by owner again, or renew our listing. Back when we had it for sale by owner, I made a blog so people could get information on it-

(Check out the house and pass it on to someone you may know looking for a house in Little Rock- whether it be rent or buy)

I know the Lord is in control and will continue to take care of us! Please pray for our house to sell and that Jonathan and I make the right decision on where to go from here.
