11 Weeks!

I'm 11 weeks! (Okay, I'm actually almost 11 1/2 but I was a little late this week) Pregnancy Highlights: How Far Along: 11 Weeks Size of baby: Baby is the size of a lime this week

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 3 lbs. Maternity Clothes: None yet but I'm thinking it won't be too long- pants are getting a little snug!

Gender: We will know May 13th! I'm still feeling boy! Take the poll and make your guess on the right side of the screen.

Movement: Can't feel any yet but baby was VERY active on the ultrasound today.

Sleep: The getting up to pee constantly is easing up but I still toss and turn a lot which is very unusual for me.

What I miss: Can't say anything yet.

Cravings: Mexican food, cheese dip and jelly beans (especially the Sour Patch Easter ones...YUM!)

Symptoms: Bloating, indigestion and some other things you don't want me to mention...

Best Moment this week: Seeing a perfect healthy little baby moving around at our doctors appointment today!

I absolutely hate this picture but it's me at 11 Weeks. I wore a rather form fitting dress to work and this was the result- I look more like I ate too many cheeseburgers than pregnant.

And this is the best picture ever! (Sorry it's hard to see but it's a picture of a picture). We got to see our precious little sweet pea at our appointment today. The doctor couldn't even get a good picture because baby was moving around so much! And baby had a great, strong heartbeat- Praise the Lord! I'm in love already!

Baby Hayes- Coming in October

In case you didn't already know... Yes, we're pregnant! I know I have been a terrible blogger but I promised several faraway friends and family (cough....Jennifer!) that I would do a better job during pregnancy and keep them updated.
I got a positive home pregnancy test on February 5...I was barely 4 weeks! My doctor still can't believe I got one so fast but I did. We had a little scare in the beginning with some spotting and what not but on February 24th we got to see a precious, strong heartbeat and a wiggly little baby! I was so relieved! Before going in for that ultrasound, I really hung on to these two verses...
"Be still and know that I am God!" Psalm 46:10
"So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Mark 11:24
For those of you who know me well, you may recall I had a miscarriage last May. It was a rough time for me but God used it to teach me so much and reminded me that His plans are perfect. Yes, it made this pregnancy a little scary but God has been working on my heart and teaching me to completely trust Him. I went in to the ultrasound that day knowing that whatever we saw- heartbeat or none- that I had to trust in Him.
We truly are praising the Lord for this baby and I completely give the praise and glory to Him!
Now for all the other details that people want to know...
When are we do? October 18th, 2011!!
How have I been feeling? I must say I feel blessed. Other than being extremely tired for the past 5 weeks, I have felt great! I have had no morning sickness and as long as I eat a little snack mid-morning and mid-afternoon to keep my blood sugar up, I haven't even been that nauseous.
What do we think we're having? I have no idea but I cannot wait to find out! We'll find out mid-May but it seems most friends and family are team boy :)
Thanks for sharing in our excitement and we ask for your prayers for a continued healthy, normal pregnancy. We are so excited!

Abby's Fancy Nancy Soiree

Today I'm linking up again with Kelly's Korner: Show Us Your Life- Kid's Birthday Parties. Although we don't have kids yet...(more to come on that soon...)...I do have a little sister who I am second Mom to. This past year I helped plan her a REALLY cute 'FANCY Nancy Pinkalicious 4th Birthday Party.
One of my best friends, Leslie, did the invitations and did such an AMAZING job! If you want a custom designed invitations for your event, Giraffic Arts is the place for you.
Part of her present from me was going to get her hair done before the party so she could look extra 'fancy'. I made these clips out of butterflies from Hobby Lobby and hair clips. The rest of the magic was done by the oh-so-talented Katherine at Katherine Grant Salon and Spa. Abby felt so grown up getting this up-do!
When the girls first arrived we had a read aloud of Abby's favorite book (and the inspiration for the party), Fancy Nancy.Next the guest moved on to a Royal Tea Party. This was the place settings. We glued jewels on the forks and spoons and the guests were served pink lemonade or strawberry milk out of goblets we decorated with jewels and personalized with their name. We served cupcakes, heart shaped sandwiches, pink candy, fruit kabobs, and mini sundaes. The girls loved it! We even borrowed a small table and chairs from our church.
Here is a closer picture of her cake. A family friend did it for us. We bough the feathers and butterflies from Hobby Lobby to 'fancify'. Boys weren't allowed to the party but she made an exception for her favorite cousin, Kaden!

The last part of the party was the best. We turned the garage into a New York runway. We had a table set up with makeup, boas, mirrors, and glitter hairspray and helped the girls get all dolled up. Then we played music from Kids Bop and let them strut the cat walk! It was such a fun party!
I just started planning this year's Cowgirl party which is looking promising too...can't wait to share!
